Our History
In the spring of 2017, Geared Up Youth was born from a moment of realization. Founders Austin Walker, alongside his friend Seth, reflecting on the essential life skills missing from their own education, began drafting ideas on a yellow notepad one inspired evening. This list quickly evolved into a detailed curriculum designed to bridge the gap in practical life education, not covered in traditional school settings. After years of gathering insights from professionals and crafting an engaging workbook, Geared Up Youth officially launched in 2024. Our mission is to empower the next generation with the crucial skills needed for personal and professional success, providing them with the tools to lead lives of significant, positive impact.

Meet the Founder
Austin Walker was born and raised in Chandler, AZ, and graduated from Grand Canyon University Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Sports Management and Minor in Marketing. He also served as the inaugural President for the Sports Business Club at Grand Canyon University and was named Outstanding Senior for the Colangelo College of Business.
After graduating from GCU in 2015, Austin spent the next five years working in Major League Baseball for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Through his leadership and innovation, he has transformed processes and events in a variety of industries. Austin has a diverse business background, having served in roles in the nonprofit space, pro sports, marketing, public relations, branding, philanthropy, and tech. He was also recently named to GCU’s “30 Under 30” list for exemplary work in the community.
As the Founder of Geared Up Youth, Austin oversees all aspects of the business and is passionate about setting up the next generation of leaders for success and investing in our youth. When he isn’t working, he enjoys playing ice hockey, traveling, and being outdoors.
